How to prepare traditional matcha
- Warm the bowl and add 1–2 scoops (chashaku) of matcha into a tea bowl (approx. 1–2g).
- Add 60–80ml of hot water (75–80°C / not boiling).
- Use the bamboo whisk (chasen) to briskly whisk in an 'M' or 'W' motion until frothy.
- Enjoy plain as usucha (thin) or add steamed milk for a matcha latte.
Tip: For a smoother latte, sift matcha before whisking and use warmed milk.
